Liverpool Initiates Contract Extension Negotiations
Liverpool Football Club has begun contract negotiations with Hungarian international Dominik Szoboszlai, aiming to retain the midfielder’s services, according to football journalist Fabrizio Romano on Facebook.The potential extension could keep Szoboszlai with the club until 2030 or 2031.

Current contract and Potential Raise
Szoboszlai currently earns approximately £120,000 per week, which is below the Liverpool average. For comparison,Cody Gakpo earns £250,000 weekly,Hugo Ekitike and Florian Wirtz earn £200,000,and Alexander Isak earns £280,000 per week.
Liverpool reportedly recognizes the need to offer Szoboszlai a significantly improved contract to keep him, perhaps making it the largest of his career.
Interest from European Giants
Liverpool’s desire to secure Szoboszlai long-term stems from concerns that other prominent European clubs may attempt to sign him. Reports indicate that both Manchester City and Real Madrid have expressed interest in the Hungarian captain, with this interest described as “not an unfounded rumour” by sources cited in Yahoo Sports.
