Nobody thinks self-regulation is enough. So it is necessary that a law is passed in Washington. AI is certainly powerful enough to trigger events that cause a billion deaths. So, even though it’s pretty difficult to achieve absolute certainty, there has never been a weapon as powerful as the combination of malicious individuals using the latest AI tools.
