Department of Data Science Achieves Excellence at the 38th Symposium of the Japanese Society for Computer Statistics
Atsuro Kimoto, a graduate student from Doshisha University, and Lecturer Jun Tsuchida from the Faculty of Data Science, made a remarkable presentation at the 38th Symposium of the Japanese Society for Computer Statistics, held in Okayama City, Okayama Prefecture, from October 24-26, 2024.
Kimoto received the prestigious Student Research Presentation Award for his outstanding presentation, which is a testament to his exceptional research skills and dedication to the field of data science.
The Student Research Presentation Award was established in 2006 by the Japanese Society for Computer Statistics to encourage and nurture students who aspire to become researchers and experts in statistics. This award is given to student members who have made excellent presentations, and it is a great honor for Kimoto to receive this recognition.

The presentation, titled “Estimation Method of Q Matrix in Cognitive Diagnostic Model using Overlapping Clustering,” was a collaborative effort between Kimoto, Tsuchida, and Hisahiro Suku from Doshisha University.
