Tourotar James Wins Second Challenger Singles Title

Japanese tennis player Tourotar James secured his second <a href="https://www.newsdirectory3.com/kidambi-srikanth-bwf-world-championship-final-indian-kidambi-srikanth-wins-silver/” title=”kidambi srikanth | BWF World Championship Final; Indian Kidambi Srikanth wins silver”>singles title at the Charlottesville Challenger tournament, held in the United States. Ranked 251st in the world, James defeated American N. Basavaradi, ranked 197th, in straight sets, 6-3, 6-4.
Tourotar James is a 25-year-old from Hyogo Prefecture, known for his one-handed backhand and strong service and net play. Throughout the tournament, he won four matches, defeating higher seeds such as second seed L. Tien (USA) and third seed M. Krueger (USA).
In the final match, James made 16 service aces, winning points with an 89% rate on his first serve, and did not give his opponent a break. He got a break once in each set and won the title in 1 hour and 15 minutes.
This is the second time in James’ career that he has won a Challenger singles title, the first being at the Tyler Tennis Championships in June of this year. With this victory, James achieved a career-high world ranking of 198th, breaking into the top 200 for the first time.
