Double Victory in Venice: Mureșanu’s Film Sweeps Two Prestigious Awards
Acclaimed Film “Anul nou care na post” Wins Prestigious Awards at Venice International Festival
The film “Anul nou care na post”, directed, written, and produced by Bogdan Mureșanu, has made a significant impact at the Venice International Festival, winning two notable awards: the FIPRESCI Award and the Bisato d’Oro 2024 award for the best script.
The FIPRESCI jury praised the film for its ambitious direction and complex storytelling, which masterfully connects six narrative strands to create a profound examination of human behavior under the influence of fear and political oppression.
Bogdan Mureșanu expressed his gratitude for the awards, stating that they serve as a significant confirmation of the film’s value and a testament to the power of cultural dialogue that transcends borders.
The film’s cinematographer, Boroka Biro, also received a special mention for her outstanding work on the film’s image, earning recognition in the “Valentina Pedicini” Award for young talents under 40 years old.
“Anul nou care na post” is set to be released in Romanian cinemas on September 24 and is a Kinotopia production, made in collaboration with SRTV and All Inclusive Films, with funding from several cultural organizations.
