Dr. Clown Launches Annual Campaign to Bring Joy to Hospitalized Children
RIGA, Latvia (AP) — Dr. Clown,a Latvian charity, has announced the launch of its annual fundraising campaign,”Help the Doctor Clown to be where he is waiting!” The initiative aims to support the organization’s work in bringing emotional support and joy to children in hospitals across Latvia.
How to Support the Campaign
Individuals can contribute to the Dr. Clown campaign through several avenues:
- Making a donation on the organization’s website, www.drklauns.lv.
- Purchasing a red clown nose at “Rimi” stores.
- Donating through collection boxes at “Rimi” stores.

All funds raised will directly support the daily work of Dr. Clown, enabling them to reach young patients, their families, and medical staff in hospitals throughout the country.
The impact of Dr. Clown
Each day, countless children face the challenges of illness and hospitalization, experiencing a range of complex emotions. Dr. Clowns visit hospitals to provide emotional support to young patients and their parents, aiming to ease the hospital surroundings.
“I sincerely believe that emotional well-being is as vital as physical well-being,” saeid Marianna Milovska, head of Dr. klauns. “Working for several years, we see how a child and parents in the hospital feel a little better in the presence of a clown, how stress disappears and how it is indeed easier for the child to endure an unpleasant procedure, and how it also facilitates the work of doctors and nurses.”
Red Nose Day
As part of the charity campaign, Dr. Clown will celebrate Red Nose Day on April 1. Supporters are encouraged to wear a red nose, take a photo, and share it on social media using the hashtag #smaidsradasmaidu (smile begets smile).
“Rimi” Store Partnership
Clown noses will be available for purchase at “Rimi” stores throughout Latvia for a donation of 1.99 euros. The full amount from each nose sold will go directly to supporting Dr. Clown’s work in Latvian hospitals. Donation boxes will also be available at ”Rimi” stores from March 28 to April 30, and “Dr. Klauns” noses will be available until May 31.
