Draisaitl’s Power-Play Goal Lifts Oilers

Edmonton Oilers forward Leon Draisaitl continues to make his mark on the NHL record books, scoring a crucial power-play goal in recent games. On April 28, 2025, Draisaitl scored a sudden-death power-play goal to give the Oilers a 4-3 victory over the Los Angeles Kings in Game 4, evening the series at 2-2.

Draisaitl’s scoring prowess was also on display against the Vancouver Canucks on October 27, 2025, where he banged home a one-time goal on a feed from Connor McDavid on the power-play to even up the score late in the third period.

More recently, on February 1, 2026, Draisaitl scored an unassisted goal, matching Wayne Messier’s career points total at 1,034. He also contributed to the Oilers’ scoring against the Minnesota Wild, alongside teammates Nugent-Hopkins and Roslovic, though the Oilers ultimately fell to the Wild 7-3.
