Falcons’ Wide Receiver Duo Ready for Action
Drake London and Darnell Mooney have excelled as a wide receiver duo for the Atlanta Falcons this season. They are set to play against the Los Angeles Chargers this Sunday.
Both players have faced injury challenges recently. Falcons head coach Raheem Morris confirmed that neither player will carry an injury designation for Week 13. Morris emphasized that both are ready to play.
Falcons kicker Younghoe Koo is dealing with a hip issue and is listed as questionable. To prepare for any situation, the team signed kicker Riley Patterson as a precaution, but Koo is expected to be available.
London suffered a hip injury in Week 9 while catching a touchdown against the Dallas Cowboys. He recovered and played in Weeks 10 and 11. Mooney experienced an Achilles injury during the Falcons’ loss to the Denver Broncos in Week 11.
Practice trends suggest both players are recovering well. London fully participated in practice on Wednesday but was limited on Thursday. Mooney was limited on Wednesday, fully participated on Thursday, and rested on Friday.
Statistically, London has made 61 catches for 710 yards and recorded six touchdowns this season. Mooney has 48 catches for 711 yards and five touchdowns.
The Falcons’ lineup will be slightly affected as cornerback Mike Hughes is out due to a neck injury. The team aims to leverage its top receiver duo to secure a victory against the Chargers.
