Mirage Fighter Plane Crashes into Sea During Night Flight Training
(Central News Agency reporter Wen Guixiang, Taipei, 11th) Pilot Captain Xie Peixun’s Phantom Fighter crashed into the sea during a night flight training yesterday evening and was rescued this morning.
Military sources noted that Xie Peixun was successfully rescued by the Coast Guard vessel (No. 3580) at 10:39 pm on the 10th after the ship’s crew reported that Xie Peixun was conscious and the Coast Guard transferred him to Taichung.
Xie Peixun came to the Children’s General Hospital at 1:35 this morning, where he will be examined and kept for observation, and transferred to the National Military Hospital for follow-up treatment.
The Presidential Office announced President Lai’s new itinerary this morning, which includes a visit to He Peixun at Taichung Children’s General Hospital’s Wuqi campus at 10:15 a.m.
