berlin, Germany – July 18, 2025 – In a powerful tribute to Nelson Mandela’s enduring legacy of global unity and positive change through sport, the ITTF Foundation today announced the opening of applications for the fifth edition of its highly impactful dream Building Fund (DBF).This year’s call, “Generation 2026,” seeks a new cohort of passionate changemakers ready to harness the transformative power of table tennis to drive social impact and build a better world.Launched on Nelson Mandela International Day, the DBF is a testament to the belief that sport, and specifically table tennis, can be a potent catalyst for addressing critical social challenges and fostering community development. As its inception, the Fund has supported 22 diverse projects across the globe, empowering local organizations to create meaningful change. These initiatives have demonstrably contributed to the United Nations Sustainable development Goals (UN SDGs), tackling issues ranging from education and gender equality to social inclusion, health, and peace.

Become a Changemaker: What DBF Generation 2026 Offers
The ITTF Foundation will select six outstanding organizations to become part of the DBF Generation 2026 cohort, providing them with comprehensive support to bring their impactful projects to life. Selected organizations will benefit from:
Significant Funding Support: Up to USD 25,000 to launch or scale their table tennis-based social impact initiatives.
Expert Guidance and mentorship: Invaluable support and strategic advice from the ITTF Foundation to ensure the long-term sustainability and effectiveness of their projects. Enhanced Visibility and Promotion: A platform to showcase their work and impact across the ITTF foundation’s extensive global network and digital channels.
Access to a Global Network: Opportunities to connect with international partners, access essential resources, training, and storytelling tools to amplify their reach.
Eligibility Criteria: Who Can Apply?
The ITTF Foundation welcomes applications from officially registered non-profit organizations, established table tennis clubs, and social enterprises that are actively using table tennis for development and are committed to addressing local or regional challenges.
Important Note: The ITTF Foundation provides funding exclusively to legally established organizations capable of receiving grants. Direct funding to individuals is not possible.
