Details of the Incident
The victim was a 32-year-old man who was reportedly a friend of the driver. At the time of the accident, the man was in the process of removing belongings from the vehicle’s trunk.
As the driver attempted to avoid the ambush, the vehicle struck the man, causing fatal injuries. Following the collision, the driver fled the scene.
Legal Proceedings and Investigation
The case was handled by the Public Ministry and Carabineros, specifically involving the Prefectura Santiago-Rinconada and the Police Investigation Section (SIP).
The driver was subsequently released under Article 26 of the Criminal Procedure Code.
