A land vehicle explosion injured five police officers and killed one man in Doctor Coss, Mexico, on December 10, 2025. The incident occurred when a truck and a Civil Force patrol vehicle detonated explosives planted by suspected members of drug cartels engaging in racketeering, commonly referred to as “narcomines.”
Context of Narcomine use
The use of improvised explosive devices (IEDs), or ”narcomines,” by Mexican drug cartels has been increasing in recent years as a tactic to intimidate security forces and disrupt government control.
