A man riding an electric bicycle was hit and killed by a drunk driver.
The driver, a man in his 20s who had been caught at home after fleeing the scene, was found to have attempted so-called “drinking,” which interfered with the breathalyzer test, saying: “I drank more when I came home.” ‘
Journalist Baek Seung-woo broke the story.

This morning around 4 a vehicle traveling on the road hit an electric bicycle in front of it and continued to run away.
A man in his 30s who was riding an electric bicycle eventually died.
The cyclist was involved in an accident while crossing the inside lane to avoid a vehicle stopped on the edge of the road.
The location where police found the attacker’s vehicle was an office building about 1.5 km from the scene of the attack.
The driver of the accident, Mr Kim, a man in his 20s, was arrested around 7am, three hours after the accident, while he was sleeping in his home on the 5th floor of the office.
At the time of the arrest, Mr. Kim’s blood alcohol level was at a level that would have resulted in his license being revoked.
A memory card in the shape of a black box was also found inside the house, which is believed to have been removed after the incident.
Mr. Kim tried to ‘drink’ by saying, “Last night I drank alcohol in three restaurants starting at 7pm, and when I got home I drank another can of beer,” but that wasn’t true.

“We searched the house and found empty beer bottles, but they were all dry and, when questioned about this, he confessed that he had “lied because he was afraid”.
Regarding the memory card, he said, “I took it out to check because the car window was broken,” but police believe he was trying to destroy evidence.
Mr Kim had his license revoked three years ago following a drink-driving incident, and was confirmed to have obtained it again last March.
The police intend to investigate in detail the circumstances of the restaurants visited by Mr. Kim and request an arrest warrant for Mr. Kim.
