Here’s a summary of the provided text about Morn from Star Trek: Deep Space Nine:
* Morn’s Single Line: The character Morn, known for being a silent patron at Quark’s bar, actually did speak a line in the German dub of the episode “A Simple Investigation.”
* The Line & Translation: After Quark leaves on a camping trip, Morn mutters “dann nicht,” which translates to “then not” or “then don’t,” and is similar in tone to “well fine then.”
* Why it’s Funny: The line is humorous becuase Morn is often taken advantage of by Quark, and this shows his frustration.
* Original intent: The article reveals that Morn wasn’t originally intended to be completely silent. The German dub reveals a bit of the character’s potential personality that was never fully explored in the English version.
* Quark’s Realization: The article suggests that Morn’s silence might be a narrative device to emphasize Quark’s eventual realization of Morn’s value as a customer.
