The Dubai Land Department has unveiled the world’s first Property Token Ownership Certificate, marking another milestone in Dubai’s real estate sector. This follows the swift sell-out of the inaugural tokenized real estate project on the VARA-licensed ‘Prypco Mint’ platform within a single day.
The initiative aims to solidify Dubai’s position as a global hub for real estate innovation and digital change.the first project under the Real Estate Tokenisation Initiative drew in 224 investors, with 70% entering Dubai’s property market for the first time. This highlights the accessibility and investor confidence in these digital solutions.
Investors from 44 countries participated, with an average individual investment of 10,714 United Arab Emirates dirhams, or about $2,917. Demand for the platform is high, with a waitlist exceeding 6,000 requests, reflecting Dubai’s appeal to global investors seeking accessible property ownership models.
The Real Estate Tokenisation project is a collaboration between the Dubai Land Department, the Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority (VARA), the central Bank of the United Arab Emirates, and the Dubai Future Foundation (DFF) through the Real Estate Sandbox. Prypco Mint is executing the project.
The initiative seeks to broaden the real estate investor base, enhance transparency, and accelerate transaction processes, aligning with the Dubai Real Estate Strategy 2033 goals and the Dubai Economic Agenda D33.The Dubai Land Department is working to enable real estate developers to list their projects on the platform, expanding opportunities for digital property investment.
