Updated June 04, 2025
Ctrl Alt, a tokenization infrastructure platform, has been granted a Virtual Assets Service Provider (VASP) license by Dubai’s Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority (VARA). This license allows Ctrl Alt to operate as a regulated entity within dubai’s burgeoning digital asset ecosystem, focusing on real world asset tokenization.
The VARA license permits Ctrl Alt to conduct licensed activities, including broker-dealer and issuer services. This makes Ctrl Alt the first VASP authorized to provide issuer-related services, marking a important milestone in the company’s global expansion.
The approval enables Ctrl Alt to offer a full-stack, regulatory-compliant platform for designing, managing, and distributing tokenized real-world assets and ARVA tokens. This includes structuring the minting and placement of real estate tokens on-chain, as demonstrated by Ctrl Alt’s partnership with the Dubai Land Department (DLD) on their Real Estate Tokenization Project.
Dubai has emerged as a global leader in digital assets and innovation, especially in tokenization. Its progressive regulatory frameworks and strategic vision have solidified its position as a hub for financial and technological advancement. VARA has played a crucial role in driving the growth of Dubai’s digital economy since its launch in 2022.
Ctrl Alt’s decision to establish operations in the region in 2024 was largely influenced by this supportive environment.
“We are proud to receive our VARA license and establish fully regulated operations in the UAE. This achievement reflects our commitment to long-term regulatory alignment as we power the infrastructure for the next generation of financial products,” Matt Ong,founder and CEO at Ctrl Alt,said.
Robert Farquhar, head of MENA at Ctrl Alt, added, “Securing our VARA licence marks a pivotal moment not just for Ctrl Alt, but for the broader digital asset ecosystem in the region.
