Dublin Celebrates 25 Years of Culture Night wiht Regional Focus
expanding Artistic Reach Beyond the Capital
More than 300 events are taking place across dublin to mark the 25th annual Culture Night,a nationwide celebration of arts and culture. This year’s event demonstrates a concerted effort to extend artistic programming beyond traditional venues and into smaller communities.
Jenny Sherwin, Arts Officer at Wicklow County Council, explained the strategic shift: “Our goal for Culture Night was to bring creativity outside of the main venue.” She added that a notable portion of their work is now presented regionally, specifically in “really small towns and villages.”
Highlights from Dublin and County Wicklow
In Dublin,coiscéim broadreach is performing a dance in Fairview Park’s bandstand,drawing inspiration from a ukrainian story of war and grief. Temple Bar is also a hub of activity, hosting numerous concerts, including a late-night performance by electronic music act Le Boom in Meeting House Square.
County Wicklow is participating with 50 events spread across 17 venues. Singer Paddy Casey is among the featured performers in the Garden County. The Arklow Arts Center is hosting a twelve-hour portrait marathon, where artist Conor Walton will paint 18 subjects and livestream the entire process.

In Baltinglass Library, attendees can participate in botanical art workshops, learning to transform life experiences into artistic expression through the Art in the Community programme.
