Duck-Pedestrian Collision in Dresden
An unusual incident occurred in Dresden on Saturday, November 1, 2025, when a duck collided with a 29-year-old woman walking along the Elbe cycle path under the Augustus Bridge. According to a police report released Monday, November 3, the duck unexpectedly flew upwards, striking the woman in the head and causing minor injuries.
Emergency services transported the injured woman to a local clinic for treatment. Sadly, the duck did not survive the impact. The Dresden fire department professionally removed and disposed of the animal,as confirmed by a police spokesperson.
Fox-Related Traffic Incident in Wehrsdorf
Further south,near Sohland in wehrsdorf,a fox was the cause of a two-vehicle collision on Sunday evening,November 2,2025.Görlitz police reported that a driver braked suddenly to avoid hitting the fox as it crossed the road. The following vehicle was unable to stop in time and rear-ended the first car.
One of the drivers, a woman, sustained minor injuries in the crash. Police estimate the property damage to be approximately 15,000 euros. the fox involved in the incident escaped unharmed.
These incidents highlight the increasing potential for wildlife-vehicle collisions, notably as animals become more active during the autumn and winter months. Drivers and pedestrians are urged to exercise increased caution, especially in areas near natural habitats.
