Duke Quarterback Darian Mensah⁤ Enters Transfer Portal

duke Blue Devils starting quarterback Darian ⁣Mensah announced​ Friday he is entering the ‍NCAA transfer portal,⁣ seeking new opportunities after completing his eligibility with the program. Mensah submitted his paperwork before the midnight deadline‍ for Football ⁣Bowl Subdivision (FBS) ​and⁣ football⁤ Championship Subdivision (FCS) players to enter the portal.

mensah’s Statement

“This wasn’t an easy decision, but ⁤after talking with my ‌family,‍ I ‍believe it’s ‍in my best interest to enter the transfer portal,” ​ Mensah posted on X.

Background

Mensah, who played for Duke from 2022-2025, completed 62.1% of his passes for⁢ 5,873 yards, 43 touchdowns, ⁤and 15 interceptions ⁣in 36 career games.⁣ He‌ led the Blue Devils ​to a 7-6 record in​ the 2024 season, including a Military Bowl appearance. He was named the 2024 ​Military Bowl MVP after ‍throwing for 258 yards and two touchdowns in Duke’s 30-13 victory over Louisville on December 26,2024. (ESPN)
