Duksung Women’s University, under Acting President Kim Jong-gil, participated in the ‘2025 Knowing My Country Youth Environmental Exploration Team Performance Sharing Meeting’ held on October 25 at⁤ Widang hall in Dobong-gu‍ Office. The event showcased projects by Dobong-gu youth focused on local ecology, resource circulation, and carbon neutrality.

Duksung students Serve as ‌Mentors

Seven students from Duksung⁣ Women’s University served as mentors from July to September, assisting Dobong-gu youth⁢ with designing exploration activities and creating presentation materials. This mentorship helped young participants develop independent learning and exploration skills,and resulted in a commendation for the Duksung students from the Dobong-gu mayor.

Formalizing the Partnership

Building ⁤on this triumphant⁣ collaboration, Duksung Women’s University and Dobong-gu signed a business agreement on December 22, 2025, to strengthen community-linked education and research. The university’s Climate Environment ‍and Culture major, ​supported by the Climate and Environment crisis Response⁢ Project Group, will launch courses addressing⁢ local community issues beginning in the first semester of the 2026 school year.

Future Plans for ​Community Engagement

Kim Jong-gil, acting president and ​head of the Climate and Environment Crisis Response​ Team, stated the university intends ⁤to expand educational programs involving both local youth and ⁢college students. The‍ goal is to continue developing collaborative models to address climate and environmental challenges within the Dobong-gu community.
