Duksung Women’s University, under Acting President Kim Jong-gil, participated in the ‘2025 Knowing My Country Youth Environmental Exploration Team Performance Sharing Meeting’ held on October 25 at Widang hall in Dobong-gu Office. The event showcased projects by Dobong-gu youth focused on local ecology, resource circulation, and carbon neutrality.
Duksung students Serve as Mentors
Seven students from Duksung Women’s University served as mentors from July to September, assisting Dobong-gu youth with designing exploration activities and creating presentation materials. This mentorship helped young participants develop independent learning and exploration skills,and resulted in a commendation for the Duksung students from the Dobong-gu mayor.
Formalizing the Partnership
Building on this triumphant collaboration, Duksung Women’s University and Dobong-gu signed a business agreement on December 22, 2025, to strengthen community-linked education and research. The university’s Climate Environment and Culture major, supported by the Climate and Environment crisis Response Project Group, will launch courses addressing local community issues beginning in the first semester of the 2026 school year.
Future Plans for Community Engagement
Kim Jong-gil, acting president and head of the Climate and Environment Crisis Response Team, stated the university intends to expand educational programs involving both local youth and college students. The goal is to continue developing collaborative models to address climate and environmental challenges within the Dobong-gu community.
