British Athletes Achieve personal Bests; Anning Takes Third
British athletes are embracing their role and making waves in track and field, with several notable performances. Amber Anning, the world indoor champion, finished third in the women’s 400m with a season’s best time of 50.17 seconds. Dina Asher-Smith secured second place in the women’s 100m, clocking in at 10.93 seconds, just behind Olympic champion Julien Alfred.
In the women’s 3,000m, Innes Fitzgerald, 19, and Hannah Nuttall, 27, both achieved personal bests. Fitzgerald finished third with a time of 8:32.90, surpassing her previous best by more than seven seconds. Nuttall followed in fourth place, clocking 8:33.82, over six seconds faster than her prior record. Linden Hall of Australia won the event.
Today was something to ask for… So to run 10.9 low is realy great, and it’s very exciting to be getting so close to my PB.
I went into the race with no expectations and I think that is the best way to race… This gives me so much confidence going forward. It shows where I belong and hopefully I can get into the big championship races.
