E. in ‘Lala Sweet Low-Sugar Red Bean Bar’. Coli detected… suspension/recall measures
Recall of Lala Sweets Low-Sugar Sweet Red Bean Bar Due to E. coli Detection
Lala Sweets has recalled its ‘Low-Sugar Sweet Red Bean Bar’ after detecting E. coli bacteria. The product is known for its low-calorie and low-sugar qualities.
The Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (MFDS) announced the recall on October 30, 2024. The affected product, produced by Donggreen Co., Ltd., has a net volume of 70ml and was manufactured on October 8, 2024.
Lala Sweets issued an apology on their website. They stated, “This is a serious issue that betrays customer trust in product quality and safety,” and acknowledged full responsibility for the error.
They explained that the product passed initial tests for coliform bacteria before distribution. However, some distributed items did test positive after leaving the facility.
The recalled product was sold through Lala Sweet’s online store and other platforms, including Market Curly and SSG.com. The company has halted all shipments and is actively recalling the items.
The MFDS urged retailers to stop selling the product and return any remaining stock. Customers who purchased the affected product are asked to cooperate with the recall efforts.
