New Positions, More Recruits, More Players in Portal: The game has adopted modern terminology for defensive positions, such as EDGE, SAM, WILL, and MIKE. It also includes nose tackles, long snappers, and a “Gadget Receiver” archetype. The game features more recruits (4,100) and more players in the portal (about 2,000).
Dealbreakers for Every player: Every player now has a dealbreaker that changes based on their skill level. Lower-level recruits may have a D+ dealbreaker, while elite players may need an A. A player’s dealbreaker threshold changes as they improve.

The coaches have archetype trees, skill levels, pipelines, playbooks, and play-calling tendencies based on their real-life counterparts. There are 300 coaches in the game.
