LONG POND, ‍Pa. – Dale Earnhardt Jr.‍ added‍ another achievement to his decorated career Saturday, guiding Connor Zilisch to victory in the Xfinity Series race at Pocono ‍Raceway. Earnhardt Jr.’s unexpected role⁢ as crew chief proved successful ‍as Zilisch, an 18-year-old racing prospect,⁤ drove the No. 88 Chevrolet to victory lane.

Earnhardt, a 15-time most popular ⁢driver award winner,⁣ stepped into the crew chief role as Mardy Lindley, the ⁣regular crew chief, was serving a ⁣one-race suspension for a lug nut‍ infraction in⁤ Nashville. This⁣ temporary⁣ role change allowed earnhardt to experience the thrill of ⁢competition from a different perspective.
