Research shows that for about a billion years, the length of a day on Earth has remained around 19 hours.
These findings come from research led by Ross Mitchell, geophysicist from Institute of Geology and Geophysicschinese Academy of Sciences.
According to Mitchell, this condition arises because the tidal force of the atmosphere due to the heating of the Sun almost completely offsets the braking effect of the Moon.
