Eastern Michigan Gymnastics Adds Keira Boetel as Assistant Coach

Eastern Michigan University gymnastics head coach Katie Minasola announced the appointment of Keira Boetel as an assistant coach for the Eagles program, according to an official release from Eastern Michigan Athletics on September 10, 2026. Boetel joins the coaching staff ahead of the upcoming collegiate gymnastics season, bringing collegiate experience to Ypsilanti as the Eagles prepare for their slate of competitions under Minasola’s leadership.

The addition of Boetel addresses the coaching staff configuration for the Eastern Michigan gymnastics team as the program builds toward its upcoming schedule. Minasola finalized the hire to support the Eagles’ student-athletes across all four apparatuses. University athletic departments typically structure gymnastics coaching staffs with a head coach and multiple assistants dedicated to specialized event training, choreography, and program administration.

Eastern Michigan competes within the Mid-American Conference against conference rivals including Ball State, Bowling Green, Central Michigan, Kent State, Northern Illinois, and Western Michigan.
