A bitter family feud has erupted between superstar Ed Sheeran and his cousin, Jethro Sheeran, with the latter accusing the singer of carrying out a personal vendetta against him.
Jethro, a rapper who performs under the name Alonestar, claims Ed, through his record label Warner Music, has threatened legal action to prevent him from using the Sheeran name commercially. The 42-year-old musician, who says he was a key influence on Ed’s early musical development, has now vowed never to speak to his famous cousin again.
“I don’t consider Ed to be family to me anymore,” Jethro told MailOnline in an exclusive interview. “I love him as he is my blood and flesh, but I don’t need to know him anymore.”
The cousins’ paths diverged dramatically as Ed soared to global superstardom, amassing an estimated fortune of £375 million. Meanwhile, Jethro continues to pursue his own musical career, living with his mother.

Jethro claims he spent his school holidays with ed, helping him write and record his first tracks. He believes Ed’s success is partly due to his early influence.
“When Ed was younger,he would come and stay with me during the school holidays,” jethro said. “We would write songs together and record them. I was a big influence on his musical taste and direction.”
The legal threat from Warner Music, jethro alleges, is a personal attack orchestrated by Ed.
“This is Ed’s way of trying to silence me,” Jethro said.”He wants to erase me from his story. But I won’t let him.”
The feud has shocked many, highlighting the complex dynamics that can arise within families, even when fame and fortune are involved.

Bristol Rapper Jethro Alleges Sheeran Used His Music Without Credit, Demands Apology
A bitter family feud has erupted between global superstar Ed Sheeran and his cousin, rapper Jethro, who claims he’s owed millions in royalties and recognition for his contributions to Sheeran’s early success.
Jethro, nine years Sheeran’s senior, alleges that he mentored the now-famous singer, writing and producing tracks together during Sheeran’s formative years. He claims Sheeran has since used his music without proper credit and severed ties, leaving Jethro feeling betrayed and financially cheated.
“Our relationship has broken down over music,” Jethro told reporters. “I taught him, and we’re now not even on talking terms.”
The heart of the dispute centers around a track called “Raise Em Up,” recorded by the cousins in 2010 and later featured in the 2013 film “All Stars.” Jethro claims he produced a remixed version, co-crediting Sheeran, but was legally barred from using Sheeran’s name or image in connection with the song.
“He needs to apologize to me first,” Jethro said, adding, “but I don’t think he ever will.”
Jethro, who is also pursuing a music career, believes Sheeran owes him royalties for the use of his music and feels he deserves recognition for his role in Sheeran’s early success.
“He has made millions but I feel I was due some recompense and recognition through a verbal agreement we both had of three songs I had written and produced, and gave to him to take to his fan base,” Jethro explained.
He expressed disappointment that Sheeran, a family member, wouldn’t offer support to an aspiring musician.
“why wouldn’t he want to help and be kind to a family member who is an aspiring musician?” Jethro questioned.
Sheeran has not publicly commented on the allegations.
Sheeran Cousin’s Remix Sparks Family Feud Over Music Rights
Ed Sheeran’s cousin, Jethro Sheeran, has found himself embroiled in a bitter legal battle with the pop superstar over a remixed track, highlighting the complex world of music rights and family ties.
The feud centers around a song titled “Raise Em Up,” originally recorded by Jethro and Ed in 2010. Jethro recently released a remixed version, co-crediting Ed and featuring his image on the artwork. This move, intended to help launch his daughter Skyla Rain Sheeran’s singing career, backfired when Warner Bros., Ed Sheeran’s record label, intervened.
Legal representatives from Warner Bros. demanded Jethro remove Ed’s image from the cover art and cease using his name in connection with the remix. Jethro, understandably upset, claims he was simply trying to leverage his family connection to give his daughter a leg up in the music industry.”I just wanted to help Skyla get started,” Jethro said. “Ed’s always been supportive of her singing, and I thought this would be a good way to get her name out there.”
The situation has strained the once-close relationship between the cousins. Jethro feels betrayed by Ed’s silence on the matter, while Ed’s team maintains they are simply protecting his intellectual property rights.
This case raises crucial questions about the balance between family loyalty and legal obligations in the music industry. While Jethro’s intentions may have been noble, his actions inadvertently crossed a legal line. The outcome of this dispute could have meaningful implications for aspiring musicians navigating the complexities of copyright and family ties.
