eGain is bringing its AI Agent for Microsoft Teams to the Microsoft 365 Community Conference (M365CON) in 2026, offering attendees the opportunity to experience the technology firsthand and take a copy home. The integration delivers instant, trusted answers directly within Microsoft Teams, leveraging AI to provide accurate, policy-compliant responses grounded in an organization’s governed knowledge base.
The eGain AI Agent integration for Microsoft Teams was officially announced on March 10, 2026, as part of a broader rollout that also includes Slack and Zoom Team Chat. These integrations aim to reduce the time employees spend searching across multiple systems for policies, procedures, and how-to information by delivering reliable, AI-powered actions inside the collaboration tools they already use daily.
According to eGain, the AI Agent provides answers that follow current organizational policies and procedures, with each response citing source documents so users can verify and explore further when needed. This approach helps shorten search time, reduce escalations, and build employee confidence in the accuracy of the information they receive.
For compliance-sensitive and high-stakes interactions, the eGain AI Agent uses case-based reasoning (CBR) to deliver deterministic reasoning, grounding its answers in an organization’s specific knowledge, history, and processes. This ensures that responses are not only accurate but also contextually appropriate and auditable.
The integration respects existing enterprise permissions and role-based access controls. For example, a sales employee will only see information relevant to their role, while HR or finance-specific guidance remains protected and inaccessible to unauthorized users. This tailored access helps maintain data security and compliance across departments.
All answers are derived from updated, approved, and version-controlled knowledge, enabling organizations to demonstrate how guidance was produced—a feature particularly valuable for regulated industries and internal audits. The technology is powered by AI technologies including machine learning (ML), natural language processing (NLP), and reasoning engines.
At M365CON, eGain will showcase the AI Agent’s capabilities within Microsoft Teams, highlighting how it strengthens productivity, lowers support costs, and improves employee satisfaction by bringing trusted knowledge directly into the flow of work. The conference serves as a platform for technology professionals to explore innovations in the Microsoft 365 ecosystem, including Copilot, Power Platform, SharePoint, Viva, OneDrive, and security solutions.
The eGain Knowledge Hub for Microsoft Teams is available as a pre-built and easily configurable web app through the Microsoft Marketplace, supporting multiple languages and designed for seamless deployment within existing Microsoft 365 environments.
