An Egyptian medical source told AFP that an Egyptian worker died of his wounds on Friday after a fight at a hotel that injured three Israeli Arab tourists and other workers in the Egyptian coastal city of Taba.

The source, who requested anonymity, said the worker died of his injuries “in an ambulance that took him from Taba” to Sharm el-Sheikh, on the border with Israel.

Earlier on Friday, a well-informed source in South Sinai told Al-Hura’s correspondent in Cairo that what was reported about a “stabbing incident involving Israeli tourists” in Taba was “not true, and what happened was an altercation between two Arab tourists, 48 ​​patrons of a hotel. , with a hotel worker for refusing to pay for their services.”

The source added, “They scuffled with the Egyptian worker and the scuffle left the Egyptian worker with broken bones and injuries. One of the tourists broke his leg and the other ran away.”

“What happened was an altercation between some staff at the Taba Hotel and several tourists,” Reuters quoted Egypt’s Cairo News Channel as saying.

Sources from North Sinai added to Al-Hura correspondent that “security authorities will issue a statement about the stabbing operation in Taba.”

The Arabs of 1948 are the children and grandchildren of Palestinians who remained in their land after the establishment of the State of Israel in 1948.

The incident took place in the Egyptian town of Taba in South Sinai, which borders Israel, and is a popular tourist destination for Israelis.
