Egyptian Prime Minister dr. Mostafa Madbouly expressed satisfaction with the significant public interest, both domestic and international, in visiting the newly opened Grand Egyptian Museum. He noted the positive atmosphere surrounding the museum’s launch, highlighting a sense of national pride and joy among Egyptians. Madbouly stated that the opening has already spurred increased tourism not only to the museum itself, but also to surrounding attractions like the Giza pyramids area and the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization in Fustat.
The government anticipates the grand Egyptian Museum will serve as a major economic driver, contributing to the growth of the egyptian economy and increasing state revenue in the coming period, according to Madbouly’s remarks.
Addressing Reports of Negative Behavior
During a press conference, Prime Minister Madbouly acknowledged reports circulating on social media regarding isolated incidents of inappropriate conduct within the museum. He emphasized that while these instances are undesirable, they should be viewed in the context of the museum hosting over ten thousand visitors.
Madbouly cautioned that even a few negative incidents can create a detrimental impression. he appealed to all Egyptians to take ownership of preserving the museum and to politely discourage any disrespectful behavior they witness, encouraging citizens to advise and warn others against such actions.
