Egyptian National Team Update: Emam Ashour Excluded Due to Injury

The Egyptian Football Association announced on Thursday morning that player Emam Ashour has been excluded from the national team’s camp due to an injury.

The Egyptian national team is set to play two matches this month, hosting Cape Verde on Friday evening in the first round of the 2025 African Nations qualifiers, followed by a match against Botswana on September 10.

Emam Ashour’s Injury

According to a statement from the Egyptian Football Association, Emam Ashour complained of knee pain during group training, prompting the technical staff to rest him and release him from the camp to prevent further injury.

The decision was made in coordination with the medical staff, led by Mohammed Abu Al-Ila, under the guidance of Hossam Hassan Fadl.

The national team’s training session saw the participation of 25 players, following the arrival of all professionals, except for Mohamed Abdel Moneim, who apologized for not attending due to his commitment with his new French club, Nice.
