Cairo,Egypt – Renowned Egyptian actor Nabil El-Halafawi died on Sunday,December 15,2024,at the age of 77.El-Halafawi, a beloved figure in Egyptian cinema and television, had been hospitalized since Tuesday following a recent health issue. His condition deteriorated in the final hours, leading to his passing.
Born in Cairo’s sayyida Zeinab neighborhood on April 22,1947,el-Halafawi’s passion for acting led him to pursue a career on stage and screen. After graduating from the faculty of Commerce, he enrolled in the Higher Institute of Dramatic Arts, graduating in 1970.
El-Halafawi’s career began in theatre, where he captivated audiences with numerous performances. He transitioned to television in 1980, starring in the historical drama series “Muhammad, the Messenger of God.”
Throughout his illustrious career, El-Halafawi graced both the big and small screens, leaving an indelible mark on Egyptian entertainment.His last on-screen appearance was in the 2022 film “Handing over the People,” where he made a special guest appearance alongside stars Donia samir Ghanem and Hisham Majed.
