Integration of Africa into global research
Table of Contents
Al -Ghazali explained that the first axis dealt with the importance of integrating the African continent into clinical experiences and global research, as it is a promising continent that includes more than a billion people and represents a fertile environment for research and innovation.
He pointed out that the involvement of Africa is not an option but rather a strategic necessity to achieve justice in reaching the results of scientific research and ensuring that human diversity is fairly represented. He also stressed that investing in a sustainable research structure in Africa contributes to reducing the spread of diseases and developing treatment solutions directed to the needs of their peoples, as well as preparing a new generation of researchers who are able to lead the scientific future.
Egypt is a model for research leadership
Al -Ghazali added that the discussions dealt with the Egyptian experience as a leading model within the African continent, noting that the research center at Ain Shams University is a prominent interface for this trend, as it works to train young research competencies, and enhance international cooperation with major universities and research centers such as the University of Fodan in China and the MD Anderson Center in the United States.
These efforts resulted in the publication of Egyptian research in prominent international scientific journals, reflecting the seriousness of Egyptian scientific research and its ability to compete globally.
Acknowledging the African role
He stressed that the Egyptian experience has proven that investing in scientific research and building competencies is the way to progress, stressing that Africa is able to be an effective partner in drawing the future of medical research globally, provided that international support and recognition as a basic partner.
Conference recommendations
The session concluded by emphasizing the need to intensify international support for Africa and include it at the core of global research, in order to enhance its capabilities in facing chronic diseases and tumors, and puts them on the path of sustainable health development.
Deficient medicine and innovation
In another axis, the conference discussed the role of careful medicine as a basic tool to improve patient therapy through personal care based on genetic and biological properties for each individual, which raises the efficiency of treatment and reduces side effects. He also discussed the importance of global alliances in clinical and genetic research, exchange of data and scientific information, and promoting innovation and communication within the framework of globalization, to build a more comprehensive and innovative health and research system.
