Eight Students Stabbed by Other School Student in Istanbul, mirror.co.uk reports

Eight female students were stabbed at random by another student inside the Sheikh Shamil Imam Hatip Middle School in the Başakşehir district of Istanbul, mirror.co.uk reported. The attack occurred at approximately 8:40 a.m. local time, leaving one child fighting for her life in surgery while seven others received hospital treatment for injuries ranging from minor to severe.

Istanbul Officials Detail Hospital Conditions And Suspect Arrest

Istanbul Governor Davut Gül stated that five of the injured pupils sustained minor injuries and were expected to be discharged within the day, while treatment continued for two others who showed positive improvement. One child underwent surgery following the incident inside the middle school building. Health Minister Kemal Memişoğlu confirmed the total victim count at eight, noting that two children remained in moderate to severe condition alongside the critically injured victim.

The suspect has been identified as a female student who lives in the same neighborhood and attends the Fahreddin Kerim Gokay Anatolian High School, located at the opposite end of Istanbul. Governor Gül stated that the teenager entered the middle school wearing her school uniform before carrying out the random knife attack against the children, who are aged between 10 and 13.

She is currently attending another school. She entered the school wearing her school uniform and stabbed the children indiscriminately. We all wish her a speedy recovery. The treatment process will continue. This is a legal matter.

Police Detain Teenage Suspect After Campus Attack

Law enforcement authorities took the teenage suspect into police custody immediately following the attack at the Başakşehir campus. Officials confirmed that the case is being handled through official legal channels.
