Ekene Ogboko Commits to Georgia, Eyes Key Role

Ekene Ogboko, a highly-rated four-star offensive tackle and ranked No. 50 in the 2026 ESPN 300, ⁤has ⁤announced his commitment to the ⁢University of Georgia. The 6-foot-6, 270-pound lineman from Durham, N.C., ‍chose the Bulldogs over offers from Clemson, Florida, ⁤and Notre Dame.

Ogboko, ​the nation’s⁢ eighth-ranked offensive tackle prospect, made official​ visits to Clemson, Georgia, and Florida this‍ spring. His commitment marks the ninth ESPN 300 pledge‌ for Georgia in this recruiting cycle.​ His ‍brother, Nnamdi Ogboko, is a second-year ​defensive lineman for the Bulldogs.

“They came to ⁢me and showed me I was a priority,” Ogboko said. “I wanted to find a place that can ‍prepare me for the ‍NFL. Georgia is a program ​that sends guys⁤ at my ​position to the league.”

Ogboko is the⁢ fourth top-50 recruit to ⁣commit to coach Kirby Smart’s 2026 class.Other top recruits include quarterback‌ Jared curtis, ranked no. 5 ⁢and defensive backs Justice Fitzpatrick ⁤and Zechariah Fort.

While Georgia missed out on Jackson Cantwell ‍and Keenyi Pepe, Ogboko⁤ provides an elite offensive line talent. “They made it clear that I can come in and compete to earn a spot early because⁤ they don’t know who ⁣the next tackle is⁢ going to⁣ be right now,” Ogboko said. “If not Year 1,I know I can get on⁣ the field in Year 2.”
