Bogotá,Colombia – Bogotá’s El Dorado International Airport has been named the world’s best airport by Cirium,a leading aviation analytics firm. This prestigious recognition follows El dorado’s recent accolade as the best airport in South America by Skytrax, solidifying its position as a global leader in aviation excellence.

cirium’s newly launched Platinum award highlights El dorado’s “operational excellence,” a testament to the hard work and dedication of opain S.A., the airport’s operator.

Opain, originally a consortium, was acquired by Colombian conglomerate Grupo Argos in 2015. Grupo Argos now holds a 99.8% stake in the company, demonstrating their confidence in El Dorado’s future.

Cirium’s analysis also recognized Colombia’s national airline, Avianca, as the seventh most punctual global airline. Avianca, headquartered in Bogotá, boasts a remarkable 80.80% on-time performance rate, solidifying its reputation for reliability and efficiency.

El Dorado’s success story extends beyond passenger experience. The airport also secured a spot among the world’s most punctual airports, ranking 17th with an extraordinary 80.11% on-time performance.
