Updated June 22, 2025
Elayna Black, formerly known as Cora Jade, revealed she once saw her wrestling future aligned with All Elite Wrestling (AEW) before joining WWE. Now a free agent, Black told Insight With Chris Van Vliet she is “open to whatever” regarding her next career move. Her wrestling future remains unwritten.
Black explained that her involvement with AEW Dark tapings and close relationships within the company initially led her to beleive she would sign with AEW. She had a strong AEW interest.
“I did want to go to AEW because I just wanted to go anywhere. I wanted to be a wrestler signed to a company,” Black said. “But I did feel closer to signing to AEW than WWE,as I was doing Dark. I was friends with The Bucks. I had people there that I was close with, and I was having fun there. I loved AEW. I did think I was going to end up there, but WWE randomly, just same month… WWE just ended up offering me a contract first.”
Now a free agent, Black isn’t ruling out a potential future with AEW. She remains focused on her wrestling career.
“I’m open to whatever. I’m not in any rush to sign anywhere right now… But if the call came, I would definitely be open to talking and whatever,” Black stated. “I’ve watched all the AEW shows since 2020, I never stopped watching them. Just couldn’t talk about it. I love AEW. I love wrestling. I want to continue to wrestle, wherever that is.”
