Elden Ring Nightreign: Patch Tweaks Madness, Fixes Revival Bug
A new patch for Elden Ring Nightreign, version 1.01.3, is now live, bringing balance adjustments and bug fixes to all platforms. While the changes are focused, players are reacting positively.
The patch increases the drop rate for weapons with the madness status ailment. Madness inflicts significant damage, causing enemies to erupt in flames.
While the increased madness weapon drops could help against Nightlords such as Libra, some players on Reddit’s r/Nightreign are skeptical. They point out that few weapons have madness effects, mainly incantation seals and Vyke’s Spear, and only a small number of enemies are vulnerable to it.
One Reddit user said they hope regular weapons can now roll madness, even if only from madness camps, noting that other status effects are more common despite madness being particularly useful against one specific boss.
A key bug fix addresses an issue where players would loose battles after being revived from near death against a Nightlord or other night bosses. One player described the bug as “psychological horror,” saying it happened to them about 20 times.
The update also includes quality-of-life improvements, such as adjusting the Whirlwind skill effect visibility for Guardian players using a specific Relic.
However, players are still waiting for a fix for Shifting Earth events. These events randomly alter the Nightreign map, adding mini-dungeons. many players have reported that Shifting Earth events become rare after defeating the final boss, hindering trophy completion.
Despite the unaddressed issue, the patch offers quality-of-life fixes to ease nightfarer expeditions. FromSoftware has also teased “enhanced” versions of the current Nightlord roster expected this month.
For those seeking assistance, guides are available for Nightfree Tips and Tricks, Nightlord Bosses, Nightfarer Classes, revenant Unlock, Duchess Unlock and Character Changes.
