According to AP polls, Trump is projected to win in several key states, including Kentucky (8 electoral votes), West Virginia (4 electoral votes), Indiana (11 electoral votes), Alabama (9 electoral votes), Florida (30 electoral votes), Missouri (10 electoral votes), Oklahoma (7 electoral votes), and Tennessee (11 electoral votes).
On the other hand, Harris is victorious in Vermont (3 electoral votes), District of Columbia (3 electoral votes), Maryland (10 electoral votes), and Massachusetts (11 electoral votes).
7 Swing States to Decide the Election
Seven swing states will play a crucial role in determining the outcome of the election. These states are not specific bases for any party and include North Carolina, Georgia, Pennsylvania, Michigan, Wisconsin, Arizona, and Nevada. There are signs of a close fight between Harris and Trump in these states.
In North Carolina, 92% of ballots have been counted, with Trump leading by 50.8% and Harris receiving 48% of the votes. According to AP calculations, Trump is expected to receive 16 electoral votes in North Carolina.
The remaining six swing states have not yet been counted, leaving the outcome of the election still uncertain.
Electoral College Votes
There are a total of 538 Electoral College votes in the 50 states of the United States. To be elected president, a candidate needs to receive at least 270 votes.
