JAKARTA,​ indonesia – A growing ​number ‌of Indonesians are opting for⁣ electric ​vehicles (EVs) for their “mudik,” the annual homecoming tradition during the Lebaran holiday.

PT PLN (Persero), the state-owned electricity ‌company, reported a significant increase​ in charging transactions ‍at⁢ Public Electric Vehicle filling Stations (SPKLU) during the 2025 Lebaran period.Transactions increased 4.9 times compared to the same period ⁣in 2024.

PLN, in‌ collaboration with its⁢ partners, has established a network of 3,558 ​SPKLU units spread ‍across⁣ 2,412 strategic ⁢points throughout ‍Indonesia.

Along the high-traffic⁣ Trans Sumatra-Java⁢ homecoming routes, PLN has deployed 1,000 SPKLU units ⁣across⁤ 615‍ locations. This represents a 7.5-fold increase compared to the previous yearS eid period.
