Practicality Meets Style: The Abarth 500e’s Hidden Use
During a recent shopping trip, I discovered that the Abarth 500e’s small tonneau cover is the perfect place to store long items like French bread. The cover’s compact size and the sun shining through the rear window kept the bread warm, making it a convenient and unexpected feature.
A Driving Experience that Overlaps with the Abarth 595
My experience driving the Abarth 500e on the rolling hills of the South Downs in southern Great Britain was reminiscent of my previous test drive in an Abarth 595. The electric powertrain and updated interior features have improved the overall driving experience, but some quirks remain.

Handling that Clings to the Road
The Abarth 500e’s handling is characterized by a sense of desperation, as if it’s clinging to the road surface. While it’s not uninteresting, it’s not entirely engaging either. The vehicle’s weight and flat posture are noticeable, especially when navigating damaged asphalt or taking curves.

Range and Charging: A Limitation of the Abarth 500e
The Abarth 500e’s battery power is insufficient for my daily commute, which consists of approximately 112km of expressways and fast-moving arterial roads. Even with an 80% charge in the morning, the vehicle switches to power-saving mode on the return journey, requiring a second charge to complete errands.
