Elena Blanco, the ⁢deputy mayor ⁤of Villar del Río, Soria, spain, tragically died on Sunday, October ⁣19, 2024, following an explosion and subsequent fire at her home. ⁢despite initial reports of being ⁢found alive,Blanco succumbed to her injuries during resuscitation attempts by emergency medical personnel.

Incident Details

The ​emergency call center (1-1-2⁢ Castilla y León) received multiple reports of the explosion at approximately 4:29⁢ PM local time. The two-story residence was located in the town square of Villar del Río.Firefighters from Ágreda Tierras Altas Moncayo successfully contained the resulting⁣ fire.

Initial uncertainty regarding whether anyone was inside the house was resolved when firefighters discovered and extracted Blanco’s body from the rubble. A loud roar, consistent ⁢wiht a structural collapse, ⁢was reported by witnesses during the incident.
