Ann-Sofie Johansson, H&M Creative Advisor and Head of Design Womenswear, stated that the partnership started with a feeling rather than a strict strategy. According to Vogue, Johansson noted that Mr. Saab has been crafting beautiful garments for years without receiving enough celebration.

During studio sessions, Saab demonstrated his hand-crafting technique by picking up a single piece of black fabric and draping it directly onto a mannequin to form a bustier dress. Johansson explained to Vogue that translating this intricate hand-craftsmanship into high-street production posed a significant challenge for pattern-makers.

Materials, Pricing, and Standout Pieces

The collection features after-dark glamour alongside daywear, coats, embellished knitwear, and accessories. According to Vogue, the highest-ticket item is a funnel-neck jacket in rich chocolate sheep leather that dissolves into black toward the waist, priced at 399 euros, which pairs with a matching pencil skirt.

Other notable garments include a black faux fur jacket made possible by recent textile innovations. Johansson told Vogue that H&M has focused on elevating its production processes and incorporating better recycled fabrics since the company’s 2015 Balmain collaboration.

Versatility and House Codes

Versatility remained a primary focus throughout the design process. According to Vogue, pieces like a double-breasted black jacket with a pleated cape back or a sequined brown-to-black bodysuit can function as evening wear or pair casually with jeans.

Saab Jr. and Johansson agreed that the lineup represents a complete lifestyle drawn from the Elie Saab universe rather than a single adapted look.
