Washington D.C. – A day after‌ Elon Musk’s public warnings on social media, former‌ President Donald Trump endorsed a measure ⁤negotiated by House Republican leader mike Johnson, effectively killing a temporary‍ funding ⁣bill that would have prevented a partial federal government shutdown.

Teh move came after a whirlwind⁢ of activity in ⁣Washington, with Trump initially refusing to say whether he trusted Johnson. Later ⁣in the day, he praised Johnson⁢ and other House leaders for crafting “a very good deal” to fund the government and raise the debt ceiling.

Before the new agreement was reached,Congressional Democrats mocked thier Republican counterparts, with several suggesting that Trump had been relegated to a secondary role.

“Welcome to the presidency of Elon Musk,”⁣ wrote California Democratic Representative Robert Garcia ⁢on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Musk’s growing political influence is undeniable, fueled by his immense wealth. Along with owning X, the billionaire is also CEO of Tesla and⁢ SpaceX.

“Ther’s no doubt he’s wielding significant⁤ influence over Republicans due ⁤to his close relationship⁢ with Donald Trump,” said Chris Pack, former communications director for the National Republican Congressional‌ Committee and the senate⁣ Leadership Fund.

However, Pack also cautioned that Musk’s threats could pose potential risks for House Republicans, who ‍will begin‌ next year with a slim five-seat majority, further reduced ⁢by Trump’s ⁣appointment⁢ of some Republican lawmakers to⁢ administrative positions.

“It’s not going to help get the agenda passed if you’re costing Republicans seats in these very‌ tight moderate districts and if you’re going to make them ⁤lose primaries,” Pack said. “All this does is hand the keys to these districts ⁣to the Democrats.”

Musk spent approximately $250 million during the presidential campaign to support Trump, largely through America PAC, a super PAC that deployed canvassers, ran television⁤ ads, and ⁣reached voters digitally in key states. He had signaled after ⁣the election that he was prepared to support primary challenges against ⁤Republican members of Congress seeking reelection in 2026 who are‌ hesitant about trump’s endorsements ⁣and⁣ agenda.

Musk Fuels GOP Fury Over Spending Bill, Declares Victory After Trump’s Opposition

Elon Musk, the billionaire CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, ignited a firestorm within the⁢ Republican Party Wednesday, publicly denouncing a massive spending bill and urging GOP lawmakers to reject‌ it.

“Any member of the House or Senate who votes for this scandalous spending bill deserves to be primaried ⁤in two ‌years!” Musk declared on X, formerly known as Twitter. He also labeled ‍the bill “one of the worst⁤ pieces of legislation ever written.”

Musk’s‍ fiery rhetoric resonated with⁤ prominent Republicans, ‌including Vivek Ramaswamy, the biotech entrepreneur and former presidential candidate who now heads the new Department of⁤ Government Efficiency alongside Musk.Donald Trump Jr., the eldest son of former President Donald Trump, also joined⁤ the chorus of criticism.

While Musk has occasionally downplayed his role, suggesting he merely aims to ⁢”draw attention” to issues, his influence is undeniable. Former President Trump himself revealed‌ he spoke with musk before the Tesla⁢ CEO’s initial barrage of ⁣tweets.

“I told‌ him if he agreed with me, he could put out a statement,” Trump told⁢ NBC News.

Karoline Leavitt, the new White House press secretary, dismissed Democratic claims that Musk was orchestrating the GOP opposition.

“As soon as President Trump released his official position on the CR, republicans on Capitol Hill echoed his viewpoint,” Leavitt said in⁤ a statement, referring to the continuing resolution.”President Trump is the leader of ‌the ‍Republican Party. Period.”

Throughout ⁣Wednesday, Musk responded to tweets from Republican House members announcing their opposition to the bill with words of thanks and public praise. He even declared victory after Trump publicly denounced the measure, proclaiming, “The voice ‌of the people has been heard. This was a good day for America.”

Musk’s triumph was further underscored by Kentucky Representative Andy Barr, who tweeted,‌ “The phone ⁢hasn’t stopped ringing today. And ⁤you know why? Because⁣ they were reading ⁢tweets… from Elon Musk and vivek‌ Ramaswamy.”

By Thursday afternoon,‌ before the⁢ revised spending plan was put to a vote, Musk declared his⁣ success, posting a photo of the slimmed-down alternative alongside the original, bulky ⁣bill he helped derail. “This is what happens,” he ⁤wrote.

Musk Mania‍ Grips conservatives as House Speaker Drama Unfolds

Phoenix, AZ – ⁣A wave of enthusiasm for Elon musk swept through the AmericaFest ⁢conference Thursday, with conservative⁢ attendees voicing support for ⁢the tech mogul as a potential replacement for House Speaker Mike Johnson. ‍

The suggestion, floated amidst the ongoing House speaker drama, ignited the crowd at the annual conservative gathering.

“Your voice matters,” Musk posted ‍on X, formerly ‍Twitter, earlier‌ this week. “And having a president like Donald⁢ Trump means your voice‍ is finally heard.”

The sentiment resonated with the AmericaFest audience, many of whom erupted in cheers when conservative commentator Jack Posobiec asked, “Should Mike johnson remain Speaker of the House?” The response was a resounding “Noooooo!!!”

Johnson, who⁤ was scheduled to attend AmericaFest, canceled his appearance following the failure of a ⁣recent budget deal.

The Constitution⁤ doesn’t require the house speaker to be an elected member of ⁤the House, opening the door for unconventional candidates like ‍Musk. While the likelihood of Musk taking on the role ⁤remains unclear, his name has become a rallying cry for some conservatives seeking a shakeup in Washington.

musk’s influence Casts Long Shadow Over Shutdown Drama

NewsDirectory3 exclusive‍ Interview

Washington D.C. – The⁤ political landscape shifted dramatically this week ‌as Elon‌ Musk’s pronouncements on ⁢social media reverberated through Washington, ultimately influencing the fate⁣ of a‌ crucial spending bill aimed at averting a government shutdown. While former President Donald‌ Trump ultimately endorsed a⁣ deal⁣ negotiated by House Republicans, the‍ specter of ⁤musk’s influence loomed large throughout the process.

We spoke too Chris Pack, former communications director for the National Republican Congressional Committee and the Senate Leadership Fund,⁢ to gain insight ‌into the unfolding drama and the implications of Musk’s⁤ growing political power.

NewsDirectory3: Mr. Pack, Elon Musk’s ‌involvement in this shutdown standoff raises‍ eyebrows. How important ⁣is his influence within the Republican ‍Party?

Pack: It’s undeniable. Musk’s⁣ wealth and his close relationship with Donald Trump give him significant leverage.‍ He’s not just a wealthy donor; he’s also⁣ a‍ vocal and influential figure with a massive following ‍on social media, and that ‌carries weight in today’s political climate.

NewsDirectory3: Some ⁤Democrats have ⁣even quipped about “the presidency of Elon Musk.” Is ‍there any truth to that sentiment?

Pack: While hyperbolic, it reflects a genuine concern among Democrats about Musk’s growing influence. He’s not elected,‌ yet his pronouncements⁤ can sway the ⁣Republican Party and impact policy ⁤decisions. This is uncharted territory.

NewsDirectory3: What are ⁣the potential risks for House ⁢Republicans in aligning ⁢themselves too closely with⁤ Musk’s agenda?

Pack: It’s a delicate⁤ balancing⁤ act. While Musk’s support can⁢ be valuable, his ⁤sometimes-controversial statements and actions could alienate moderate voters, particularly in swing ‌districts. ‍ ‌

Republicans hold a slim majority in the House, and they can ill afford to lose seats. If Musk’s involvement leads to Republican losses, it could‌ backfire ‌spectacularly for the party.

NewsDirectory3: How⁣ might this ‌dynamic play out going forward?

Pack: It will be crucial for‍ Republican leaders to navigate this carefully. They need to find a way to‍ leverage Musk’s⁣ support without being beholden to his every‌ whim.

This situation highlights the evolving nature of⁣ political influence in the digital age. figures like Elon Musk, with ⁢their vast resources and online platforms, ⁣can⁢ exert a significant impact on the political ‍landscape, for better or worse.

This interview has ⁢been edited ‍for ⁣clarity⁤ and brevity.
