Elon Musk Ends Role in Trump Management

Elon Musk, the tech entrepreneur and world’s richest man, announced his departure from his position as a special government employee in President Trump’s administration. The announcement regarding his role in government efficiency efforts came via a post on X, his social media platform, Wednesday.
musk had been involved with the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) since the beginning of Trump’s second term in January. His role allowed him to work within the government for a limited time, exempt from certain ethics regulations.
The move comes after Musk recently voiced criticism of some of President Trump’s legislative initiatives. musk’s expertise in government efficiency and technology will now be directed back to his various companies, including SpaceX, Tesla, neuralink, and The Boring Company.
His time as a special government employee was scheduled to conclude this week.
“As my scheduled time as a Special Government Employee comes to an end, I would like to thank President @realDonaldTrump for the opportunity to reduce wasteful spending,” Musk said.
Musk added, “The @DOGE mission will only strengthen over time as it becomes a way of life throughout the government.”
