(AFP, Philadelphia, 4th) A Pennsylvania judge ruled today that billionaire Musk’s American PAC’s daily lottery to give $1 million to registered voters in swing states can continue until tomorrow.
Pennsylvania Court of Civil Claims Judge Angelo Foglietta ruled that the voter lottery can continue, but did not elaborate. Musk did not attend today’s hearing.
Musk’s lawyers said they carefully selected the winners based on who would be the best spokesperson, rather than choosing them at random.
Democratic District Attorney Larry Krasner called the lottery launched by Musk a scam “actually designed to influence national elections” and demanded that related activities be stopped.
Musk’s lawyer, Chris Gober, said that the final two winners will be announced today and tomorrow in Arizona and Michigan before tomorrow’s election.
The US Political Action Committee launched this event on October 19. The first three winners came from Pennsylvania, and the others were from battleground states like Wisconsin, Nevada, Arizona, Georgia, North Carolina and Michigan. It is not clear if anyone received the bonus.
More than 1 million people in these seven states registered for the lottery by signing petitions, expressing their support for freedom of speech and the right to bear arms, the first two amendments to the US Constitution.
Pennsylvania is one of the key battleground states, with 19 electoral votes Trump and the Democratic candidate and Vice President Kamala Harris have visited the state several times and plan to return to Pennsylvania on the eve of the day vote to collect votes.
