Donald Trump⁤ Announces Plan to Create Committee on Government Efficiency

United States Republican presidential candidate, Donald Trump, has declared that if he wins the election, he will create a committee ​on government efficiency,‍ which will be led by billionaire Elon Musk, as ‍reported by Reuters.

According to⁤ sources, Trump has been discussing the idea of creating a⁤ government ‌efficiency commission with his⁤ aides for weeks. However, during a speech ‌to the Economic Club⁤ of New York, he publicly‌ announced his plans for the first ⁤time.

Trump also revealed that Musk has agreed ‍to head the committee. The billionaire had previously expressed interest in‌ serving on such a body during an August 19 podcast.

“I ⁣will create a government efficiency commission‍ that is tasked with conducting a complete financial audit and performance review of the entire federal government and make⁢ recommendations for drastic reforms,”⁤ Trump stated.

Musk expressed his enthusiasm for the opportunity, saying, “I‍ look forward to serving ⁣America if given the chance.”

During his speech, Trump acknowledged several business leaders in attendance, including Jamie Dimon, CEO of JP Morgan Bank, and Stephen Schwartzman, CEO of Blackstone.

Trump has frequently ​criticized Democratic vice presidential candidate Kamala ⁢Harris regarding rising consumer prices during President Joe Biden’s tenure. Despite a slowdown in general inflation over the past two years, many​ American consumers ⁤remain dissatisfied with the higher prices they‌ pay for food, gasoline, and other products.

According to public opinion polls, most voters perceive Trump as more competent in managing the economy. However, his advantage over Harris on this issue is narrowing.
