Argentina Embassy in Venezuela: PUD Rejects Irregular Situation

The Democratic Unitary Platform (PUD) has expressed its strong rejection of the “irregular situation” surrounding the official residence of the Argentine Embassy in Caracas, as reported by Estudio Cocuyo.

Six leaders of Vente Venezuela, a party led by opposition member María Corina Machado, have been taking refuge in the embassy headquarters since March, fleeing persecution by the regime of Nicolás Maduro.

“We reject the irregular situation unfolding near the Argentine Embassy in Venezuela, where members of the Venezuelan Con command are seeking refuge, persecuted by the regime of Nicolás Maduro,” the coalition stated on the X social network.

The PUD has demanded that “the persecution ends immediately” and that Venezuela respect the international agreements to which it is a signatory.

Con Venezuela’s order has also denied the international community “a new violation of the Convention on Diplomatic Asylum.”

The presence of this police force in the diplomatic residence coincides with the president of Brazil, Lula Da Silva, confirming that he does not recognize the results of the elections in Venezuela, and demanding that the Venezuelan president, Nicolás Maduro, “demonstrate” the legitimacy of his victory, following allegations of fraud in the elections.
