He admitted that a poor second half to his training plan prevented him from achieving his goal of a sub-four-hour finish, noting that runners should never underestimate the distance. Despite missing his target time, the ITV soap star emphasized the rewarding nature of the challenge. He encouraged everyone to attempt at least one marathon in their lifetime, praising the atmosphere in the German capital and describing the event as one of the most difficult challenges he has faced.

Fundraising efforts for the Mental Health Foundation

The actor used the grueling 26.2-mile run to support mental health awareness, establishing a JustGiving page that has raised £1,257 for the Mental Health Foundation so far. Plant credited the generosity of donors with pushing him through the tougher stretches of the course during his four-hour and fourteen-minute run. Writing on his fundraising page, Plant explained that the cause remains deeply personal to him. He stated that giving people more opportunities and tools to receive help allows individuals to figure out what works for them so they do not have to suffer in silence.

Plant received praise across social media from several of his Emmerdale colleagues following the completion of the race. Charity Dingle actress Emma Atkins commented on his Instagram post that the achievement left her in tears, calling him a legend and promising a donation. Additional praise came from co-star Laura Norton, who dubbed him a superhuman superhero, and Karen Blick, who labeled the feat an amazing achievement.
