Cedars-Sinai Appoints Dr. Ravi Thadhani as Chief Medical Officer
Los Angeles-based Cedars-Sinai has appointed Ravi Thadhani, MD, as Executive Vice President of Clinical Affairs and Chief Medical Officer, effective October 15th. This leadership change marks a significant step for the health system as it continues to prioritize patient care and medical innovation.
A Renowned Expert in Nephrology and Preeclampsia
Dr. thadhani brings extensive expertise to Cedars-Sinai, recognized internationally as a leader in the fields of nephrology (kidney disease) and preeclampsia, a pregnancy complication. In his new role, he will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of clinical quality and safety, medical affairs, and the establishment of medical practice standards across the Cedars-Sinai system and its affiliated hospitals.
Returning to Cedars-Sinai After National Leadership Roles
Dr. Thadhani is not new to Cedars-Sinai, having previously served as Vice Dean for Research and Graduate Research Education and Chair of the Biomedical Sciences Department from 2017 to 2019. Following his tenure at Cedars-Sinai, he held leadership positions at Mass General Brigham in Somerville, Massachusetts, and most recently served as Executive Vice President for Health Affairs at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia, and Executive Director of Emory’s Woodruff Health Sciences Center.
